The function of the elastic coupling is to transfer torque from one shaft to another and absorb impact loads in the event of limited misalignment.
Cushion-driven Fenner Bush flexible couplings transmit torque to the machine input shaft through high-strength steel bolts.Highly developed rubber compounds are used in bushings to absorb shock loads, torsional vibrations and minor misalignments.
The Fenner coupling has a simple and compact structure and can transmit high torque at maximum speed. The flange is made of cast iron and complies with IS.20 Class 210.This type of coupling allows driving in either direction, without lubrication or adjustment after installation.The flexible bushing is not affected by water, dust and atmospheric conditions.
Machines connected by flexible couplings should first be aligned with all possible accuracy.The capacity of the coupling will handle misalignment due to temperature changes or heavy axle load.The setting of the machine foundation or the wear of the bearings can also cause additional loads to be placed on the coupling.Once the machines are coupled, any or all of these situations may occur.
Unless otherwise specified, the flanges are drilled to meet the requirements, and the keyway meets British Standard specifications.They also provide the minimum hole diameter listed to allow on-site machining.
The power requirement range of the standard coupling is 0.81Kw to 249Kw, the speed is 100RPM, and the size range is BC1 to NBC11
